The 19-year-old left-back has been linked with Real Madrid and some of England’s elite but is poised to stay at Mestalla
Jose Gaya has revealed he is ready to snub interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea to sign a new deal with Valencia.
The left-back Gaya is one of La Liga’s hottest properties and has also been linked a move to Manchester City following the 19-year-old’s breakthrough season at the Mestalla.
However, the Spain U-21 international appears set to reject offers from elsewhere and remain under the guidance of Valencia boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
“My renewal is at an advanced stage,” Gaya was quoted as saying by AS on Friday.
“Everything’s going well and there are only a few minor details that need tying up.”
Valencia, who host Eibar on Sunday, occupy the fourth and final Champions League spot with four matches remaining.
But after a run of just two wins in six matches, only a better head-to-head record keeping above fifth-placed Sevilla.
Valencia are one home win away from setting a new club record for most home victories in a 20-team La Liga season (15, currently 14), and against Eibar have the opportunity to keep seven consecutive home clean sheets for the first time in their top-flight history
