The 21-year-old will join the Red Devils in a deal believed to be worth around €27.5 million this summer and his compatriot has congratulated him on the move
Memphis Depay fully deserves his big-money move to Manchester United, according to compatriot and new team-mate Daley Blind.
PSV and United announced on Thursday that a deal believed to be worth €27.5 million had been agreed to take Depay to Old Trafford this summer, subject to a medical.
And Blind, who was brought to United from Ajax by Louis van Gaal last summer, says he has contacted the 21-year-old to congratulate him on finally completing his move to the Premier League – spurning interest from Paris Saint-Germain in the process.
“With my transfer it all happened very fast last summer. It took some time before I knew that there would be a deal. Now with Memphis, I knew there was some interest, but I didn’t know it would go this fast.
“[I have texted him but] I haven’t spoken to him yet. I think he will be very busy at the moment.
“It’s good to see that big clubs still come to the Eredivisie [to buy players]. In the case of Depay he totally deserved this by himself.”
