The unattached attacker was open to a move to Turin last winter after previously turning the Bianconeri down on three separate occasions
Antonio Cassano has revealed that Juventus attempted to sign him during the January transfer window.
The 32-year-old has been available on a free transfer ever since he left cash-strapped Parma earlier this season and the freshly crowned Serie A champions approached his agent to discuss a potential move during the winter break.
However, the proposed move never materialised as Juventus strengthened their attack with Alessandro Matri instead.
“Juventus have tried to sign me on four occasions,” Cassano told Tiki Taka.
“Luciano Moggi wanted me before I signed for Roma, but he is probably still waiting… They then tried again after they had dropped to Serie B and a third time after their promotion.
“The last time they were after me was back in January. I would have gone for it this time because of the presence of Massimiliano Allegri, who knows how to treat his players.
“Fabio Paratici contacted my agent, but I don’t really know what happened then…”
The former Italy international then went on to discuss the upcoming Champions League final and warned Juventus that they cannot afford to allow Barcelona ace Lionel Messi any space.
“Barca are the favourites, but Juventus can emerge victorious if they get an early goal and then defend strongly,” the forward added.
“They have to keep a close eye on Messi, though. He is the best player of all time.”
