Kevin De Bruyne’s agent has said there is “no way” the Wolfsburg star will submit a transfer request in order to force through a move to Manchester City.

The 24-year-old was the subject of a £45 million offer from City at the end of last week, although head coach Dieter Hecking remains confident the former Chelsea man will stay.

And the attacking midfielder’s agent, Patrick De Koster, has stressed that they will not attempt to force Wolfsburg’s hand when it comes to a transfer.

“There is no way we would do something like that – we have a good working relationship with Wolfsburg and a transfer request is not something that happens in Germany,” he told Guardian Sport.

“At this stage we have not received a call to say that any bid has been accepted and until we do Kevin will stay where he is.”

Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben claimed earlier on Thursday that he hopes to see De Bruyne spurn any advances from abroad.

“I want the good players of other clubs to stay in the Bundesliga,” the winger told Algemeen Dagblad.
