The Turkish club have admitted that they have opened negotiations with the Spanish side, though they insist they have had no contact with the player himself
Fenerbahce have confirmed that they have opened talks with Valencia over a move for Sofiane Feghouli.
Reports had emerged that the Turkish side had already reached an agreement with Los Che and offered the 25-year-old a contract.
However, Fener have insisted that a deal has not been struck between the two sides, but they are hoping to land the Algeria international in the summer window.
“Speculation about Valencia midfielder Sophiane Feghouli’s transfer fee and transfer news in the media recently are not true,” a statement from the club read.
“Our club met with the Valencia board about Feghouli’s transfer. Valencia said they will come back to us after meeting with the player.
“However, there have been no negotiations with the player or his agent yet. According Uefa regulations, it’s an offence to meet with the player prior to meeting with his club.”
Feghouli has been key player for Valencia over the last few years, playing 33 times in La Liga, scoring six goals for the club last term.
