Galatasaray reject West Ham bid for Burak Yilmaz

Slaven Bilic is keen to sign a new striker, with injury ruling Enner Valencia out of action until December, but the Turkish giants have turned down a bid from the Hammers

Galatasaray have rejected a bid from West Ham for striker Burak Yilmaz.

The Hammers are actively trying to sign a striker following the serious knee and ankle injuries that have sidelined Enner Valencia until December.

And following interest in Emmanuel Adebayor, Javier Hernandez and Raul Jimenez, manager Slaven Bilic has turned his attentions to Burak.

However the Galatasaray board have rejected a move for the 30-year-old striker, releasing the following statement.

“West Ham United offered us €5m [£3.5m] for Burak Yilmaz,” the statement reads. “But our player didn’t demand leaving and also our club has no thought of selling him.”

The Turkey international is entering his fourth season with Gala and is currently one of just three recognised forwards alongside Umut Bulut and Lukas Podolski.
