The centre-back has given the club a boost after committing his future to the Vicente Calderon until 2019
Diego Godin has signed a new four-year deal at Atletico Madrid which ties him to the club until 2019.
The centre-back has been one of Atletico’s most consistent performers since moving to the Vicente Calderon in 2010.
Godin has since won La Liga, the Europa League and the Copa del Rey, as well as the Spanish and European Supercups.
It was his goal against Barcelona on the final day of the 2013-2014 season that clinched the club’s league title success.
The Uruguay international has already clocked up 212 appearances in all competitions and found the back of the net an impressive 18 times.
