A supporter hopes to find another 599,999 people to agree a payment plan to fund the Argentine’s reported wage demands of £600,000 a week to move to the Emirates Stadium
EXTRA TIME By Alex Young
Lionel Messi was linked with a move to Arsenal earlier this week… but only if he is given £600,000 a week in wages.
Undeterred, though, an Arsenal fan is hoping to recruit 599,999 other Gunners supporters to sign up to a £1-per-week payment to cover the Barcelona star’s salary should he move to the Emirates Stadium.
I’m pretty sure I could find another 599,999 other #Arsenal fans willing to set up a £1/week direct debit. #messi #afc #justdoit #thedream

A silly idea? Definitely maybe not. Crowd-funded projects are increasingly popular, with films of budgets in the millions just some of many success stories on crowd-funding website Kickstarter.
@iamadamsykes @TheGunnersWay @Arsenal #crowdfunded players, it’s the future 🙂

If funding Messi’s wages doesn’t take your fancy then there is always a card game called Exploding Kittens.
