Antonio Conte has made the Roma midfielder his No.1 summer priority but the club’s opening offer has been turned down, while Kostas Manolas is also a target
Chelsea have seen their opening £23 million bid for Radja Nainggolan rejected by Roma, according to The Guardian.
The midfield is Antonio Conte’s No.1 summer target as the new manager looks to bolster his midfield options but Chelsea’s offer, with performance-related add-ons, has been turned down.
Chelsea are expected to return with an improved offer, while Conte is weighing up a move for Nainggolan’s team-mate Kostas Manolas.
The centre-back was close to joining the dethroned Premier League champions last year, only for Roma to fail to find a replacement.
