The Lyon striker had been identified as a primary target by the club’s hierarchy but they accept he is instead likely to join Laurent Blanc’s big-spending side this summer
West Ham have all but given up hope of signing Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon this summer, Goal understands.
The Hammers had identified the France international as a key target as they attempt to secure a marquee signing ahead of their move to the Olympic Stadium next season.
West Ham subsequently tabled a £31 million bid for the striker, who scored 23 goals in 44 games in 2015-16, but saw the offer rejected and it is understood that Lacazette holds severe reservations over a move to east London.
The forward intends to play in the Champions League next season and sources have told Goal that he has also held talks with French champions PSG.

The capital club, who won Ligue 1 by a staggering 31 points, are currently scouting for a replacement to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and initiated contact with Lacazette through intermediaries in January.
West Ham retain hope that Lacazette could yet have a change of heart, but the club’s hierarchy know that any such possibility is highly unlikely.
The club have a number of alternative striking targets, but have cooled on Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi after they were quoted a fee of £40m for the Belgium international.
Slaven Bilic’s side have also explored the possibility of signing Jamie Vardy from Leicester City, and have been linked with the likes of Simone Zaza and Christian Benteke.
