Arsene Wenger’s star players are unhappy that they are making less than other players in the Premier League who are not producing the same output
Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are demanding weekly salaries comparable to that of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, the Evening Standard reports.
The pair, who both have 18 months left on their respective current deals, have been locked in talks over extensions with the Gunners, with wages proving a major sticking point.
Ozil currently pockets £140,000 per week while Sanchez makes £10,000 less, and both feel their contributions are such that they should have parity with the Premier League’s top earners.
Paul Pogba is the league’s highest earner, banking £290,000 per week, but Arsenal are not willing to fork out more than £200,000.
A refusal to match the star attackers’ demands, however, is unlikely to end well for Arsene Wenger’s side.
