The Hammers star reportedly can be signed on the cheap if Slaven Bilic’s troubled side go down, although the club are trying to stave off a departure by offering him a new deal
West Ham could be set to lose Dmitri Payet for just £15 million if they get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season, reports The TImes.
Slaven Bilic’s men have struggled this term and currently sit a single point above the drop zone.
And clubs could be set to pounce on their prized asset Payet should they be demoted, given a special clause inserted into the Frenchman’s contract that could see him depart on the cheap in such an eventuality.
West Ham are set to hold new contract talks with the France international imminently and offer him a big pay rise and the removal of the clause, although it is unknown whether he is keen to pen fresh terms.
