The Burnley centre-half is a wanted man, with Leicester City also keen on securing his services, but the Toffees are in pole position to sign him next summer
Everton have overtaken Chelsea and Manchester United in the battle to land Burnley defender Michael Keane, according to the Daily Mail.
The Clarets centre-half is generating plenty of interest, with the Daily Star suggesting that reigning Premier League champions Leicester City are also plotting another move for his services.
It is, however, the Toffees that head the queue at present.
Keane will not be on the move until the summer, but he is likely to be offloaded at the end of the 2016-17 after refusing to discuss an extension to a contract at Turf Moor that has 18 months left to run.
