RUMOURS: Cavani to sign new PSG contract

The Uruguayan is set to extend his stay at the Parc des Princes for another two-and-a-half years, having emerged as the club’s leading striker under Unai Emery

Striker Edinson Cavani will sign a new contract with PSG to keep him with the Ligue 1 side until 2020, according to L’Equipe.

The Uruguay international returned to training with PSG on Monday after the winter break, and is due to agree his new deal in the coming weeks, following Thiago Silva in committing his future to the club.

Cavani has scored 24 goals in 23 games for Unai Emery’s side this season, having become PSG’s primary frontman after Zlatan Ibrahimovic left for Manchester United during the summer.
