RUMOURS: Liverpool & Man Utd to battle for Forest striker

The 17-year-old has been in prolific form in front of goal and could soon be on his way to one of the Premier League’s elite sides

Liverpool and Manchester United will face off in a battle to sign Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton, the Daily Star reports.

Jose Mourinho is said to be a big fan of the 17-year-old Forest academy graduate, but will face competition from Jurgen Klopp, who is also an admirer.

Brereton has not yet made a first-team appearance for his current club, but has scored 15 goals in 20 games for the Under-23 side.

The youngster has been rewarded with a long-term contract for his exploits, but reports that several clubs’ scouts have been in attendance at each of his performances this season suggest he is not long for City Ground.
