'There's nothing tangible on Keita' – Lazio adamant no bids received amid Man Utd talk

The Red Devils have been linked with a big-money approach for the Senegal international forward, but no formal offers are on the table at present

Lazio are yet to receive a ‘tangible’ offer for highly-rated frontman Keita Balde Diao, according to the club’s director of sport Igli Tare.

The Senegal international has netted five times in 16 Serie A appearances this season and impressed with the overall quality of his performances.

His reputation has built steadily in Italy since making the breakthrough at Lazio, with the youngster already into his fourth season as a senior professional.

Keita’s efforts are now being recognised outside of Rome, with transfer talk building again now that the January window is open.

Manchester United are among those to have been credited with holding an interest, with reports suggesting that a bid of around £26 million would be enough to see them force a deal over the line.

No formal approach has been made as yet, though, with the Red Devils said to see Keita as more of a summer addition than a winter arrival.

That has kept the door ajar for others, with AC Milan also said to be keen, but Lazio are adamant that no exit discussions have been held and that they are paying little attention to the admiring glances being shot in their direction from afar.

Tare said in quotes published by Calciomercato: “There’s nothing tangible on Keita, he is and remains a Lazio player.

“The fact that people like him is only part of the game”.

Real Madrid were said to be close to reaching an agreement for Keita last summer, but saw him remain in Serie A.

They may also be tempted back to the table if the young striker remains available, although they would have to wait until the summer as they are currently working under the restrictions of a transfer ban.
