RUMOURS: Marseille to hold Payet talks on Monday

The Hammers star was set to sign for the Ligue 1 side and spend the rest of the campaign in London, though an immediate exit now looks on the cards

Marseille president Jacques-Henri Eyraud will hold talks with West Ham officials on Monday in regards to a transfer for wantaway Dimitri Payet, according to Sky Sports.

The France star sees his future away from the London Stadium and was subsequently dropped from Slaven Bilic’s first-team for Saturday’s win over Crystal Palace, and is to be fined by the club.

West Ham have reportedly reached a compromise with Payet, who is set to return to Ligue 1 with Marseille, though he will no longer remain in the Premier League for the rest of the season and instead make an immediate exit.

According to the report, West Ham will accept no less than £30 million for the playmaker, however, which may stall discussions with Marseille.
