The former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur striker is currently without a club after leaving Major League Soccer outfit LA Galaxy
Robbie Keane could soon join Preston North End’s Irish contingent, with the Lancashire Evening Post linking the striker with the Championship club.
The former Republic of Ireland international is currently without a club following his departure from LA Galaxy and has been linked with clubs in Australia and Ireland.
According to the newspaper, Preston boss Simon Grayson would like to add Keane to his squad as they attempt to push into the mix for a play-off spot. However, the report suggests that the 36-year-old striker’s wage demands could prove to be a stumbling block.
Keane would join a significant cohort of Irish players at Deepdale if he were to join, with Greg Cunningham, Alan Browne, Andy Boyle, Daryl Horgan, Aiden McGeady and Eoin Doyle already at the club.
