The Serie A side will offer their midfield star a much higher wage in order to keep him from leaving for the Premier League club
Roma are set to stop Chelsea from signing midfielder Radja Nainggolan by offering him an improved contract, according to Calciomercato.
Antonio Conte’s side had previously been linked with a move for the Belgium international, but Roma do not want to lose the 28-year-old to the Premier League side.
Nainggolan’s current deal runs until the end of the 2019-20 season, but he is seeking £70,000 a week in order to remain at the Serie A side.
The midfielder has played at Roma since 2014, becoming an integral part of their starting XI. Nainggolan has played 19 of their 20 Serie A games this season.
