The Frenchman wasn’t even on the bench for Manchester United’s trip to Stoke and could be set to leave Old Trafford in search of regular game time
Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is furious about his lack of game time under Jose Mourinho and could be set to leave Old Trafford if he’s unable to nail down a regular starting position, according to reports in France.

Martial didn’t even make the squad for United’s trip to Stoke City on Saturday and French website SFR Sport have reported that the player’s entourage were angered by Mourinho’s lack of explanation for the decision.
When asked about the absence of Martial and Marcos Rojo after the game, Mourinho simply said: “He [Rojo] was not feeling well [so was out because of that]. Martial was not selected.”
The 21-year-old joined the Red Devils from Monaco for an initial fee of £38.5 million in the summer of 2015 and was a regular starter under Louis van Gaal last season, scoring 17 times in all competitions.
However, he’s struggled to cement his place in the team since the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and has so far scored just six times in total this season. He has been linked with a loan move to Sevilla recently and his agent could now ramp up efforts to get his client a move away from Old Trafford before the transfer window closes on 31 January.
Earlier this month, after Martial had scored in United’s win over Middlesbrough, Mourinho suggested the player should knuckle down and take a leaf out of Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s book, who is now blossoming after a difficult start to life at Old Trafford.
“Anthony has to listen to me and not listen to his agent. He has to listen to me,” he said. “He has to listen to me in training every day and in every feedback I give to try to improve players.
“But the Mkhitaryan process I was having almost every day Mkhitaryan’s agent calling me and saying Mkhitaryan with you will be a better player, keep going.
“And with Martial every day I read the newspaper: Martial goes to Sevilla, Martial goes on loan, Martial is not happy.
