Borussia Dortmund scouts were at the Bombonera on Sunday to watch a glittering display from Racing Club’s wonderkid Lautaro Martinez, claims the star’s father.
Martinez, 20, has been linked to the likes of Monaco, Manchester United and Arsenal among others after bursting onto the scene in Argentina this year.

The striker was also in discussions over a move to Atletico Madrid for 2018, a transfer that eventually failed to materialise.
His performances have now caught the eye of the Bundesliga giants, as his father Mario revealed that emissaries from Dortmund watched Martinez put Boca Juniors to the sword.
“They came to see the game and I believe they went away with a good idea of what Lautaro can do,” he explained to TyC Sports on Monday.
“We had an informal chat and dinner together but there is still nothing concrete.”
Dortmund’s scouts bore witness to a stellar showing from the forward, who represented Argentina Under-20s in the South American Championship and the World Cup and is rumoured to be in Jorge Sampaoli’s plans for the senior side.
Martinez opened the scoring with a savage effort from outside the Boca area and, after Dario Benedetto’s penalty had levelled the game, teed up Augusto Solari for what proved to be the match-winning goal with a neat pass that scythed through the Xeneize defence.
“He is a player who has no limits on what he can achieve,” Martinez Sr. added, also recognising that Atletico have maintained their interest despite failing to come to an agreement.
The 20-year-old currently has a buy-out clause of €9 million, a sum that Racing are desperate to elevate with a new contract before they are willing to discuss any sale of their gem.
