CSKA Moscow are eyeing a permanent move for Ahmed Musa following his blistering form since he rejoined them on loan from Leicester City.
The 25-year-old has been impressive since his return to the VEB Arena in January, scoring seven goals in 16 appearances across all competitions.
On Sunday, the speedster registered a goal and set up another in CSKA’s 2-1 victory over Anzhi Makhachkala, which secured them an automatic Champions League spot for next term.
Prior to his departure from the King Power Stadium outfit, the forward endured a torrid time with the Foxes as he found playing time difficult to come by, failing to make a single league appearance in the 2017-18 season.
And CSKA sporting director Roman Babayev has insisted that the Red-Blues ‘will try to keep’ the Nigeria international.
“We will conduct this work, but everything will depend on the position of Leicester,” Babayev told Championat.
“We would very much like him to stay with us but if Leicester will have a more profitable financial offer on hand than we can offer, then it will be difficult.
“Surely, they want to sell the player, and not loan him again. But we will try to keep Musa.”
