Transfer news & rumours LIVE: Conte rejects Real Madrid job

Conte rejects Real Madrid job

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has rejected an approach from Real Madrid, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Though the Blues boss is unhappy with the Stamford Bridge outfit’s pursuit of someone to replace him without sacking him first, he is reluctant to resign with a year left on his contract.

Taking over from Zinedine Zidane at Santiago Bernabeu offered him a route out of west London, but Conte is unsure as to whether the current Madrid squad would be open to his intense coaching methods.

West Ham open Toure talks

West Ham have opened talks with Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure regarding a move to the London Stadium, according to the Daily Mail.

The Ivory Coast international is out of contract at the end of this season and would need to take a pay cut from his £220,000-per-week wages to move to the Irons.

Toure, though, is thought to be open to the move and the promise of reuniting with former City manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Madrid beat Barca to €45m Rodrygo

Real Madrid have sealed a deal to sign Santos wonderkid Rodrygo for €45 million (£40m/$53m), reports Marca.

Barcelona were also in the mix for the 17-year-old winger, who has been compared to his compatriot Neymar.

Despite his age, Rodrygo has been one of the stars of the Brazilian league this season, scoring five goals in nine appearances.

Arsenal make contact over Juve pair

Arsenal have contacted Juventus about the availability of defenders Medhi Benatia and Daniele Rugani, according to  Calciomercato .

Rugani, 23, is seen as a key part of Juve’s future, and could be tough to pry away from Turin.

Benatia, however, is more likely to move after reportedly falling out with Juventus manager Max Allegri.

Man Utd to prioritise striker over left-back

Manchester United are unlikely to sign a left-back this summer, with Jose Mourinho instead prioritising a new striker, according to The Independent.

United had been linked with moves for Alex Sandro and Kieran Tierney, but Mourinho feels satisfied with his current left-back duo of Ashley Young and Luke Shaw.

The manager does want to land an alternative for Romelu Lukaku up top, with West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic and Juventus’ Mario Mandzukic possible options.

West Ham place £60m price tag on Arnautovic

West Ham have slapped a £60 million (€68m/$80m) price tag on Marko Arnautovic in an attempt to discourage interest from Manchester United, claims the Mirror

The 29-year-old has emerged as a target for Jose Mourinho, who is looking to add another physical attacker to his ranks alongside Romelu Lukaku.

The Hammers are prepared to receive a bid from United, and hope their valuation of Arnautovic will keep him in London next season.

Tottenham keen on Grealish

Tottenham are hoping to land Aston Villa star Jack Grealish but face plenty of competition, reports The Birmingham Mail.

The 22-year-old midfielder was one of the stars of the Championship last season, and six Premier League teams have expressed an interest.

Spurs will look to get ahead of the pack with a preliminary £15 million (€17m/$20m) bid, but Villa could hold out for twice that amount.

Spurs & Man Utd deadlocked over Alderweireld

Manchester United and Tottenham have reached an impasse in talks over a deal for defender Toby Alderweireld, reports The Independent.

United have offered £55 million (€63m/$74m) for the defender, but Spurs are holding out for more.

With talks at a standstill, Tottenham’s interest in United winger Anthony Martial could help push a deal through.

Arsenal interested in Klostermann

Arsenal are interested in RB Leipzig defender Lukas Klostermann, according to Bild

The 22-year-old played mostly as a full-back for Leipzig last season, but is versatile enough to play any position on the back line.

Roma have also registered an interest in the Germany U-21 international, who joined Leipzig from Bochum in 2014.

Tottenham step back from Zaha interest

Tottenham have cooled their interest in Wilfried Zaha due to Crystal Palace’s valuation of the 25-year-old, reports Sky Sports News.

Palace are demanding more than £70 million (€80m/$94m) for the Ivory Coast international, who has previously expressed a desire to stay at Selhurst Park.

West Ham in talks over Anderson

The 25-year-old Brazilian has spent five seasons at Lazio, scoring 34 goals and adding 42 assists.

Lazio are hoping to garner €50 million (£44m/$59m) for Anderson, which is far more than the Hammers are willing to pay.
