Mamelodi Sundowns have announced that president Patrice Motsepe has instructed the management to finalize Percy Tau’s move to Brighton & Hove Albion as soon as possible.
In a statement released by the club on Monday evening, Sundowns revealed that Tau’s agent Mmatsatsi Sefalafala apologized for disclosing confidential information to the media and for the player not reporting for pre-season training.
Two weeks ago, Sefalafala told Sunday Times how Sundowns had been playing hard ball even with a concrete Brighton offer in front them.
She revealed at the time that Sundowns rejected several offers from the Premier League side.
Sundowns were looking for transfer fee in the region of R71 million to part ways with their star attacker, and reports suggest that Brighton are willing to offer R65 million with add-ons.
However, the latest developments means that they move may finally be happening, especially now that Motsepe has decided to finally intervene.
