Olympiacos seal loan deal for Wolves defender Roderick

Olympiacos have announced the signing of Wolves defender Roderick Miranda on loan.

The Portuguese centre-back moved to Molineux from Rio Ave in 2017 and was a regular for the Championship winners in the early months of the 2017-18 season.

However, the 27-year-old fell out of favour in the second half of the campaign, making just two league appearances in 2018 under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Roderick will hope to be more involved at Olympiacos, having joined the Greek club on a season-long deal.

He was first choice for Rio Ave before moving to England, playing 37 times in the 2016-17 season, his fourth with the Primeira Liga club.

Previously, Roderick was on the books of Benfica, but played just seven league games over the course of four seasons and instead was loaned out to Switzerland and Spain in order to get more first-team experience.

Wolves kick off their 2018-19 Premier League campaign on August 11 against Everton, before travelling to Leicester seven days later.

They face a real test on August 25 when they welcome Premier League champions Manchester City to Molineux Stadium.
