Real Madrid rule out possible Neymar bid

Real Madrid have “no plans” to attempt to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain, the club has stated.

The European champions have been constantly linked to the attacker, who joined the French club from Barcelona in a world record move last year.

Madrid lost out on signing the Brazil star from Santos as he opted to join their Spanish rivals in 2013 instead, but talk of him replacing Cristiano Ronaldo at the forefront of their attack has never completely disappeared.

However, Madrid have moved to dismiss any notion of them trying to bring the Brazil star back to Spain.

“Given the constant information linking the PSG player Neymar Jr. with our club, Real Madrid CF wants to clarify that there are no plans to make any offers for the player,” a statement read.

“The relationship between the two clubs is extraordinary, so that, if at some point Real Madrid were considering hiring a PSG player, the first thing we would do would be to go to the club.”
