Lebo Mothiba has promised to ‘give everything’ for Strasbourg after completing a move from Lille.
The 22-year-old endured a difficult spell with the Great Danes, having joined the outfit in 2016 and was loaned to the French Ligue 2 side Valenciennes to increase his chances to play regularly.
Mothiba scored five goals in 14 appearances for Christophe Galtier’s charges after he was recalled mid-way through his second year with the Stade du Hainaut side.
The South Africa international who, this term, has featured three times, scoring a goal for Galtier’s men has expressed his readiness to deliver for Le Racing.
“I’m very happy to join Strasbourg. I know I will progress with the coach and the players here,” Mothiba told club website.
“When [I was at] Lille, I was told of the interest of Strasbourg. It was complicated for me to make this choice at the last minute. I was surprised but I’m glad to come here to this club that has a great story.
“Racing [Strasbourg] was looking for an attacker who works and gives everything for the club. I’ll try to do that and score goals.
“I’m here to learn. If the coach gives me a chance, I want to give everything for the club. I am someone listening, serious on the ground. Defensively, I work for the team.
“I’m an axial striker. I can keep the ball, I make the effort and I take the depth. I feel ready to play my first game. If it is not tomorrow, it will be after the truce,” he said.
The striker is looking forward to setting the ball rolling at Strasbourg as they lock horns with Nantes in Saturday’s Ligue 1 encounter.
