?Burnley have confirmed that left-back Charlie Taylor has signed a new contract at the club, committing his future to the Clarets until 2024.
The 26-year-old started 35 of Burnley’s 38 Premier League games last season, but has lost his place in the side this season to summer signing Erik Pieters.
Despie that, Burnley have taken to their ?official website to confirm that Taylor has penned fresh terms, following in the footsteps of Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood.
“I’m delighted. I feel it’s a very stable club,” Taylor said. “It’s been in the ?Premier League now for a few years.
“The next few years are hopefully the peak years of my career. I’ve signed up to ?Burnley to spend them here and hopefully the best years are to come.
“Ever since I made my debut in the Premier League I’ve wanted to stay here. I think once you have a taste of the Premier League you don’t want to go anywhere else. We have been in the Premier League since I arrived and that’s where I want to stay.”
Taylor has started just one league game all season, but he insisted that he is happy to be part of a competitive squad who are all vying for minutes.
“I’ve said before that all any professional wants to do is play. It’s been frustrating at times, but it’s also been worth it,” Taylor admitted. “
