Sadio Mane Scoops Premier League Player of the Month Award for November

?Sadio Mane has been announced as the winner of EA Sports November Premier League Player of the Month, beating off competition from Tottenham duo Dele Alli and Heung-min Son, as well as Leicester pair Jamie Vardy and Caglar Soyuncu on the seven-player shortlist for the award.

Wolves’ Raúl Jimenez and Sheffield United’s Lys Mousset rounded off the candidates with some excellent performances of their own.


However, it was another fine month of league action for Jurgen Klopp’s men, who maintained their superb start to the season with four wins from their four matches.

Key in that run was the Senegalese forward, who notched three goals and an assist for the Reds, including a decisive header against Manchester City that significantly boosted their title hopes.

He started November with a last-minute winner against Aston Villa at Villa Park, as ?Liverpool came from behind to snatch all three points in the midlands. Following on from that, he netted the aforementioned header against City in a 3-1 victory at Anfield that has Klopp’s side looking in cruise control as they bid to secure a maiden Premier League crown.

A trip to the capital came 13 days later, with ?Mane opening the scoring against Crystal Palace as the Reds overcame a late scare to grab all three points at Selhurst Park. Their magnificent form showed no signs of letting up during their final game of the month, seeing off Brighton at home in another match the 27-year-old shone in.

Finishing as joint-top scorer in the division last season with 22 goals, Mane has continued his sparkling form for his club with nine goals and four assists in his 15 league matches this season. On the European stage he has also been excellent, scoring twice as Liverpool topped their Champions League group ahead of SSC Napoli, reaching the knockout stages of the competition they won last season.
