Derby County have confirmed they have parted ways with Dutch coach Phillip Cocu by mutual consent, after a wretched run of form condemned them to the bottom of the Championship table.
The 50-year-old arrived at Pride Park at the start of the 2019/20 campaign, and led his new side to a respectable 10th place finish, blooding through plenty of young starlets.
However, Derby have got off to a terrible start to the new season, winning only one of their 11 matches – a string of results which leaves them in the relegation zone with a total of six points.
Their poor form had plunged Cocu’s future into doubt, and the club confirmed on Saturday evening that they have agreed to part ways after just over a year in charge.
