Man Utd among sides tracking PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas

Manchester United are interested in a move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas this summer.

Navas has enjoyed an outstanding two years in Paris but is on the verge of being forced out of the starting lineup by Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is set to sign on a free transfer from AC Milan this summer.

It was initially suggested that Navas would definitely be staying at PSG this summer regardless of the move for Donnarumma, but Marca state that the 34-year-old will likely push for an exit if the Italian joins, and there are a few sides keeping an eye on him.

One of the most interesting names is United, who have a handful of major decisions to make when it comes to their goalkeeper this summer.

On the books already are David de Gea and Dean Henderson. The former earns an enormous wage but doesn’t always justify that on the pitch, while the latter is ready to force a move away from Old Trafford this summer if he is not made a guaranteed starter. Only one can win.

It’s not yet clear which goalkeeper United will put their faith in, but this report seems to suggest neither of them will win. If United move for Navas, he’s not coming to sit on the bench.

PSG are thought to be looking for around £10m to let Navas go which, on top of his high wages, means he will almost certainly be a starter wherever he goes, so United would have to sell both their current goalkeepers – something which is not outside the realm of possibility.

There’s also interest from both Juventus and AC Milan, but for the same reasons as with United, it’s a little tough to believe.

Juve have 31-year-old Wojciech Szczesny under contract for three more years, while AC Milan have already agreed a deal to sign Lille stopper Mike Maignan to replace Donnarumma. Stefano Pioli’s side definitely don’t have room for Navas.

Despite PSG’s willingness to boot him out – and Real Madrid’s before them – Navas remains one of the game’s best goalkeepers and will undoubtedly want to be a consistent starter for whichever team he represents next year.
