Antonio Conte breaks silence on Tottenham exit

Antonio Conte has posted a farewell message to Tottenham and the club’s supporters after he left by mutual consent.

The Italian’s departure was confirmed late on Sunday night after speculation over his role in north London heightened following an explosive press conference at Southampton, in which he targeted his players and those in boardroom roles following a 3-3 draw.

Spurs have confirmed Cristian Stellini will take over as acting head coach until the end of the season alongside assistant Ryan Mason.

Conte, who helped Spurs qualify for the Champions League thanks to an electric run of form towards the end of last season, has now posted a message on social media after his exit was confirmed.

It reads: “Football is passion. I would like to deeply thank everyone at Spurs who appreciated and shared my passion and my intense way of living football as a coach.
