Midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has insisted he is “happy” at Real Madrid following an uptick in his gametime at the club.
The France international was signed by Real Madrid in June 2022 for a reported initial £68m but was not immediately able to wrestle a starting position off Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga or veterans Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
However, thanks to a tactical tweak made to accommodate the signing of superstar Jude Bellingham over the summer, Tchouameni has seen his minutes increase at the start of the 2023/24 campaign with the midfielder starting all four of Madrid’s La Liga games thus far.
Speaking to Saber Desfarges on international duty, the former Monaco midfielder was keen to express his happiness with how things are progressing at Real Madrid.
He said: “Everything is going well at Real Madrid, I am performing well, and I have playing time, I am happy.
“As long as you don’t doubt yourself, and you continue to work, things will fall into place as they should.”
Tchouameni is currently on international duty with France and performing admirably for Les Bleus. The 23-year-old scored a stunning goal in the comfortable win over Republic of Ireland in a Euro 2024 qualifier on Thursday evening. The midfielder brilliantly curled the ball into the bottom corner from long range to give France a 1-0 lead which they would double in the second half through Marcus Thuram.
Tchouameni will look to continue that fine form when France face off against Germany in a friendly on Tuesday at the Signal Iduna Park.
