Will there be a Football Manager 25? Release date and everything you need to know

As 2024 unfolds, there have been very few updates on the future of Football Manager, and fans are beginning to wonder if a Football Manager 25 will even be released this year.

The Football Manager franchise gives players the opportunity to manage the best (or worst) clubs in the world. The simulation features 124 leagues across 55 nations, allowing almost any dream scenario to become a reality right at your fingertips.

Fans have the power to create their own storylines in the simulation, choosing everything from their manager’s backstory to their club. With new graphics, features, and animations in Football Manager 24, the game reached a new potential.

However, the developers coined the title “the last of its kind,” leaving an air of uncertainty surrounding the next game in the franchise…until now.

Yes, there will be a Football Manager 25. Although there is no specific release date for the upcoming title just yet, the game will likely drop in November 2024, following the same release pattern as the previous editions.

The developers might not have confirmed the launch date just yet, but they did announce that FM25 will use Unity, a new engine that powers Genshin Impact, to bring a fresh experience to the game.

Sports Interactive Director, Miles Jacobson, stated, “In simple terms, FM25 will have a significantly better looking matchday experience – both on the pitch and the supporting stadium environments, alongside a vastly improved user interface that will dramatically improve how you navigate through screens and access all the information available to you as manager.”

Jacobson also promised the most “true-to-life” animations and gameplay in the history of Football Manager. Plus, FM25 will feature the long-awaited introduction of women’s soccer to the franchise.

Fans can expect more information regarding FM25, including a first look at the game’s new look, in the upcoming months.
