LA Galaxy fans have been fortunate to see their club wear all kinds of kits since their 1996 inaugural Major League Soccer season.
While the Galaxy’s home kits remain rather simple year after year, the away and third kits can get a little interesting every couple of years when new ones are released. Since the five-time MLS Cup champions are one of the league’s original teams, they have quite the list of kits to look and choose from.
Here are the top five best kits in LA Galaxy history.
The 2016 home kit may not seem like anything special on the surface, but a few special players that wore this very shirt made it worth something to Galaxy fans.
Even though Steven Gerrard, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane were nearing the end of their careers, it was still cool to see them pull on these simple tops.
The 2018 home jersey was yet another simple shirt that was made popular by none other than Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ibrahimovic didn’t come out and say that he was a massive fan of the shirt, but his performances on the pitch did — which brought new fans to MLS.
The Galaxy’s 2000 home kit was so nice that current head coach Greg Vanney can be seen here sporting it!
Even though the shirt was very much popular in the baggy era of sports jerseys, the colors work well together for a team that attracted many stars from the jump.
Once again, we have another simply white kit with gold accents.
But what made it special was one key player in particular: David Beckham. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United icon donned the 2007 home kit in his first season in MLS, and many fans will instantly remember this jersey thanks to the Englishman.
The 2017 away kit might’ve gone under the radar, but this combination of colors is absolutely stunning.
The navy, yellow and white all work so well together to create a simple yet intricate kit. Hopefully, we’ll see another navy kit from the Galaxy in the near future.
