?It’s almost that time of year again when we can all finally start grinding the Weekend League to get Team of the Season players in our red picks.
Knowing EA Sports like we do, this year won’t be much different to the last. The Team of the Season won’t actually reflect too much on the best players in whichever league is released, but rather which ones are most suited to the meta of this year’s game.
So you can expect quite a few differences with 90min’s actual Bundesliga Team of the Season, as we take you through who could, should and probably will be released as blue cards in FIFA 20 later this year.
Goalkeeper

Manuel Neuer (GK) – Injuries over the last two years have meant Neuer hasn’t been part of Team of the Season since FIFA 17, where he was also included in the Team of the Year.
Predicted Rating: 96
Defenders

Achraf Hakimi (RB) – Just IMAGINE what this card is going to look like. The pace, the passing, the pace, the dribbling…Did we mention the pace?
Predicted Rating: 93
Dayot Upamecano (CB) – His Player Moments SBC cost over 200,000 coins, so let’s face it, no one’s actually got that card. Upamecano’s Team of the Season should be good fun though (as long as he’s not on your opponent’s team, that is).
Predicted Rating: 95
Lukas Klostermann (CB) – ‘Wait, isn’t he a right-back?’ Yes, but Klostermann’s spent the majority of this season filling in through the middle, so his Team of the Season card should be central too.
Predicted Rating: 93
Alphonso Davies (LB) – Just like with Davies’ Player Moments card, this one will be able to do a job absolutely anywhere on the pitch.
Predicted Rating: 92
Midfielders

Jadon Sancho (RM) – Sancho’s Team of the Season card last year was only 96 rated, so we’re expecting a little bit of an upgrade this time around.
Predicted Rating: 97
Thomas

Attackers

Robert Lewandowski (ST) – The Bundesliga’s best foreigner of all-time has never had a 99-rated card in any instalment if FIFA, dating back to FIFA 10. He’s had three 98-rated Team of the Season cards over the years, but this should be the years he caps out.
Predicted Rating: 99
Timo Werner (ST) – Even Team of the Season cards can’t have more than 99 pace, but if they could, Werner would have one. His face-card stats won’t be as impressive as Lewandowski’s, but this one will probably be more expensive on the market.
Predicted Rating: 97
Bench

Yann Sommer (GK) – All of us will pack Sommer in our guaranteed Bundesliga Team of the Season pack for the second year running, won’t we?
Predicted Rating: 95
Christopher Trimmel (RB) – Even with Hakimi, Union Berlin’s Trimmel could be a much better all-rounder for any Bundesliga side on Ultimate Team.
Predicted Rating: 91
Philipp Max (LB) – What was that, EA? 99 free-kick accuracy?
Predicted Rating: 92
Christopher Nkunku (CM) – His highest-ever card to date was an 81 in-form that he picked up earlier this season.
Predicted Rating: 92
Marcel Sabitzer (CM) – This year will be Sabitzer’s second Team of the Season card, having picked one up in FIFA 15 as a left midfielder at Red Bull Salzburg.
Predicted Rating: 94
Florian Niederlechner (ST)
Predicted Rating: 91
Predicted Rating: 95
Reserves

Suat Serdar (CM) – Serdar has quietly been one of the best midfielders in the league this season. He deserves a Team of the Season card, but EA could also pick Amine Harit ahead of him just to keep prices up on the transfer market.
Predicted Rating: 92
Stefan Lainer (RB) – Even as a player in the reserves, Lainer’s Team of the Season card will be one of the best in the entire 23-man squad.
Predicted Rating: 92
Thiago
Predicted Rating: 95
Predicted Rating: 93
Marcus Thuram (ST) – If EA don’t give Thuram’s Team of the Season card a dynamic image of him holding a corner flag in the air then they’ve really missed a trick.
Predicted Rating: 92
