Barcelona and Chelsea in battle for Torres

Barcelona are reportedly are weighing up the merits of a move for Liverpool hot-shot Fernando Torres.

The Spain international’s future at Anfield looks to be the subject of much speculation after seeing compatriot Rafael Benitez depart the club yesterday following a disappointing season at the helm of the Reds.

Barcelona’s interest in Torres is not exactly new as El Nino was already on the Catalan club’s agenda last summer, but a transfer never materialised.

Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old striker, who cost Liverpool a fee in the region of €30 million, but it is believed the Blues’ preference lies in the shoulders of Barcelona‘s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

News daily Sport claims that, after spending €40 million on David Villa of Valencia, Barcelona’s move for Torres would always depend on Ibrahimovic being sold first, with the Swedish ace having a €50m price-tag around his neck. (Source)

Maicon finally expressed himself

Spanish newspapers AS:

“What I want is to play for Madrid and it would be an honour for me to be there because I have said it would be a great opportunity in my career,”

“With Manchester City I have nothing, I can assure that. I will make it very clear to prevent misunderstandings: I want to play for Madrid, I do not want to go to Manchester City.”

“Moreover, I repeat that I have nothing with the English club.”

“Mourinho is a great coach, and I think no one can argue that. I have a great relationship with him and it would be very good for me to be at his service again,”

“We won many things together and I hope to repeat that. He is one of the best coaches I have across in my life.”

Guardiola does not want Ribery and Fabregas

Pep Guardiola does not want neither Cesc Fabregas neither Franck Ribery: to reveal such indiscretion it is the Spanish daily paper “As”. The technician of Barcelona, in fact, would have asked the blaugrana leadership to acquire, for the next season, from the Valencia David Villa (28) and from Seville Jesus Navas (24). These last soccers player would be more congenital to the game of the Catalan square regarding the others two unequalled one. And if Guardiola says to it…

Edin Dzeko is also on target of Barcelona according to latest reports.

Dzeko on Fergi’s top list

Ferguson told for Daily Mail: “He is mine wish, but it will be hard for buy on January.”

According to our sources, he is ready to spend €25m, but on summer he will be going max €35m.

Manchester City is also interested in Bosnian diamond.

Blazevic, selector of Bosnia told long time ago: “He will be new Ibrahimovic!” And guess what, he is right, only this time, the player is playing for this country, not some other (Sweden).
