Under Armour release mesmerising Magnetico Elite 5 Boots

Under Armour has officially unveiled the Magnetico Elite 5, and it’s turning heads – not just for its futuristic design, but for what it promises in performance.

Dubbed ‘Digital Camo,’ the launch colourway features a disruptive black-and-white pattern that feels more sci-fi than soccer, with visual cues reminiscent of QR codes, prototype schematics, and glitch art. It’s an unapologetically bold look, worn loud from toe to heel.

But the Magnetico 5 isn’t just about aesthetics. Under Armour has rebuilt their control-focused silo from the ground up, crafting a boot specifically for players who dictate tempo in high-pressure zones – whether that’s shielding possession, picking a pass, or turning defenders inside-out.

The boot features a new auxetic upper – a foot-mapping material that flexes in response to pressure, wrapping the foot in a second-skin fit. Paired with targeted silicone strike zones for enhanced ball grip and a lightweight soleplate designed for explosive cuts, the Magnetico 5 puts control at the forefront of every movement.

The launch was revealed in a slick teaser video starring Real Madrid and Germany defender Antonio Rüdiger, who repeats the word “control” before booting the camera screen into darkness.

The final caption appears: “Control is everything.” That’s the boot’s core message – and its mission.

The Magnetico Elite 5 ‘Digital Camo’ is available now via Under Armour’s official online store and select global retailers.

Cole Palmer traces Caribbean roots in heartwarming St Kitts visit

Fresh off a dazzling performance in the Club World Cup final – where he scored twice to help Chelsea lift the trophy – Cole Palmer took a well-earned break.

But instead of heading to a beach resort, the rising star made a trip that meant much more: his first-ever visit to St Kitts, the Caribbean island where his paternal grandfather was born.

The journey, documented by BBC Sport, was a powerful personal moment for the England international, who proudly wears the flag of St Kitts and Nevis on his boots. He visited his grandfather’s old home with family, calling it a “special” experience.

But it wasn’t just a trip down memory lane. Palmer threw himself into island life – playing football with local kids, signing shirts, posing for photos and charming fans young and old. One eager youngster asked the now-viral question: “Do you like chippy chips?” – a nod to Palmer’s iconic comment about his love for chip shop fries.

Palmer also met St Kitts Prime Minister Terrance Drew, who praised the midfielder’s pride in his heritage: “Cole Palmer has really represented his roots. Wearing the flag of St Kitts and Nevis on his boots – it’s really a proud moment for all of us.”

The love from the locals was just as heartfelt.

“Best footballer in the world,” one young fan said, while another added: “Left foot better than Messi. Telling the truth, Messi needs to go back on the bench.”

To top it all off, Palmer hit the water on a jet ski, flashing a grin as he zipped across the Caribbean sea – relaxed, at home and clearly enjoying every second.

“It’s been nice, obviously seeing all the little kids and all the other people,” Palmer said in his classic understated style.

A post-season getaway with heart, heritage and just the right touch of flair – just like Cole Palmer himself.

PSG send Neymar special gift after birth of baby daughter

Just weeks after welcoming his second child with partner Bruna Biancardi, Neymar is embracing fatherhood and celebrating the milestone with a special gift from his former club, Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar and Biancardi introduced their baby girl, Mel, earlier this month. She joins big sister Mavie, born in 2023, as well as Neymar’s two older children from previous relationships: Davi Lucca, born in 2011 to ex-girlfriend Carolina Dantas, and Helena, whose mother is Brazilian model Amanda Kimberlly.

To mark this joyful chapter, PSG sent Neymar a set of personalized jerseys – one for each of his children, plus one for himself. Each shirt is emblazoned with their names and numbers, a thoughtful tribute from the club where Neymar spent six seasons and lifted five Ligue 1 titles.

Neymar shared the meaningful gift on Instagram with a simple, heartfelt message: “Merci @PSG.”

Announcing the birth of Mel in early July, Biancardi and Neymar shared a series of heartfelt photos with their newborn and big sister Mavie, both at the hospital – where Neymar was present for the delivery – and later at home.

Biancardi captioned the post: “Our honey has arrived, to complete and sweeten our lives even more! Welcome my daughter! May God bless your life and save you from all evil! We look forward to living this new chapter with you. We love you!”

With his family growing and his career entering its later stages, it’s clear that Neymar’s focus is now as much off the pitch as on it.

Man City, England star John Stones ties knot in lavish Ibiza wedding

John Stones has married his long-time partner Olivia Naylor in a low-key, private ceremony in Ibiza.

The Manchester City and England defender, 31, tied the knot with Olivia, 36, at Hacienda Na Xamena, an exclusive clifftop venue on the island. The event was kept small and personal, with just 40 guests made up of close friends and family.

The Sun state the celebrations stretched over several days. It kicked off with a pre-wedding party where all guests wore white – except the couple and their three children, who opted for black. The ceremony itself was followed by a champagne pool party the next day.

Sources close to the couple say Ibiza was chosen for its personal significance.

“They love Ibiza and wanted to marry in their favourite place,” a source said. “The wedding itself was beautiful and everything they dreamed it would be. Everyone is absolutely thrilled for them.”

Stones and Naylor have been together since 2019. In early 2023, they welcomed their first child, just weeks after Stones returned from the World Cup in Qatar. Stones proposed last summer following England’s Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain.

Man Utd, India cricket team meet at Carrington training ground

Two global sporting powerhouses came together as Manchester United welcomed India’s national cricket team to Carrington, blending the worlds of football and cricket in a rare and memorable crossover.

India, in town for their Test series against England, made a stop at United’s training ground to spend time with the Premier League club’s players and staff. The meeting was captured in a series of vibrant photos and videos posted by the BCCI and adidas, labelled with the fitting caption: “United in Manchester.”

The visit kicked off with a warm welcome from senior United officials and club legends, followed by a symbolic jersey swap – with both squads donning personalised versions of each other’s shirts.

From there, the event flowed into a mix of friendly football and cricket challenges, shared laughs, and insightful conversations between athletes at the top of their games.

India captain Shubman Gill took time to speak with Bruno Fernandes about leadership and mental preparation across disciplines.

“It’s very exciting to be able to meet top athletes in the world from another sport,” Gill said. “To get to know their stories is very inspiring. You’re playing two different sports, but the mindset you play with is, most of the time, very similar.”

Meanwhile, India head coach Gautam Gambhir met with United boss Ruben Amorim to discuss coaching philosophies and building team culture.

“It was a nice interaction – what his ideology is towards team sport and what my ideology is towards team sport,” Gambhir reflected.

After a dismal 2024/25 season, perhaps United will be using some of that shared wisdom heading into the new campaign.
