Inter team up with Spike Lee for pre-Club World Cup short film

Back in March, legendary filmmaker Spike Lee was spotted at San Siro, attending Inter’s Champions League match against Feyenoord as a guest of the club.

Now, just months later, the “Do The Right Thing” and “Malcolm X” director has officially teamed up with the Nerazzurri to create a short film in collaboration with the club – released in the build-up to Inter’s participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

The film acts as the launch for Inter’s new global identity manifesto, “My Name Is My Story,” which aims to introduce the club to a wider, international, and more diverse audience.

Running just over three minutes, the short blends classic Spike Lee storytelling with Inter’s rich history. It showcases iconic moments and players from the club’s past – Ronaldo Nazário, Javier Zanetti, Giuseppe Meazza and even cult hero Adriano, who appears via his famously overpowered Pro Evolution Soccer character.

Lee also touches on Inter’s trailblazing beginnings – emphasising how the club was formed in response to early league restrictions on foreign players. From that defiant start, Inter went on to build a legacy as a global powerhouse, with male and female players representing cultures from all over the world.

“This club’s name is about being something for everyone – for people on, around, and far beyond the pitch, in Milano and everywhere,” says Lee in the film. “We are brothers and sisters of the world,” he adds, quoting the club’s now-iconic motto.

Speaking on the collaboration, Giorgio Ricci, Inter’s Chief Revenue Officer, said: “With a view to our arrival in the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup, we’ve come up with an innovative and authentic way to tell our story to younger generations.

“Being able to present ourselves to an international audience with a contribution from a world-renowned director in Spike Lee is an extraordinary thing and represents a great opportunity to make our brand all the more relevant on the global stage,” he added.

Inter’s cinematic moment of self-introduction now sets the stage for their real-world spotlight – they kick off their Club World Cup campaign against Mexican outfit Monterrey.

It features tailored navy suits adorned with subtle leather detailing in Vuitton’s signature VVN hide, with precise finishes on lapels and pockets that echo the heritage of the maison’s classic trunks.

And the look extends beyond suits: accessories include a sleek LV-buckled belt, an embroidered navy cap, and soft-grain leather bags. Travel is just as stylish, with bespoke luggage including the Horizon 55 cabin case, Keepall duffle and Christopher backpack – all in LV’s monogram canvas, accented by white and gold racing stripes that nod to Real Madrid’s colours.

Each piece is finished with an exclusive leather charm featuring the club crest – not for sale to the public, but reserved for players only, underscoring the elite nature of the collaboration.

“Real Madrid stands for excellence and evolution – always pushing forward,” Williams said in a statement. “That energy fuels what we do at Louis Vuitton. This wardrobe was made to move with that same spirit – pieces that travel with purpose, strength and style.”

Real Madrid’s Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, praised the creative synergy, saying: “Both of us have managed to transcend time. We share not just the responsibility of building a legacy, but also a purpose – to inspire, far beyond our fields.”

David Raya: Arsenal goalkeeper dons hilarious stag do outfit on Las Vegas flight

Stag dos are a universal part of wedding culture. Once the groom-to-be says yes to tying the knot, it’s tradition for the best men to whisk him away to an exotic, party-fuelled destination – often involving at least one utterly ridiculous costume.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya found himself on the receiving end of that tradition during his recent stag do, jetting off to Las Vegas with a group of friends that included his brother Óscar, Spanish comedian Tomás García Serrano, and fellow footballers Diego Rico, Adri Embarba and Unai López.

Their first move? Dress Raya up as a flight attendant.

Wearing a full air hostess outfit, the Spain international played along brilliantly – serving snacks to passengers mid-flight to the delight of his travel companions and the rest of the cabin.

Once they touched down in Vegas, the group wasted no time diving into the fun. They hit the Vegas strip and spent time at the LIQUID Pool Lounge, with photos showing Raya relaxing with friends in the water and soaking up the sun.

Raya got engaged to Tatiana Trouboul in October 2023.

Two months later, the couple teased fans with Instagram shots of themselves in full wedding attire – her in a white dress, him in a suit – sparking rumours they had already tied the knot. However, behind-the-scenes images revealed a message confirming the real date: “See you in Mallorca, July 5th, 2025.”

Safe to say, Raya probably won’t be handing out pretzels on that flight.

David Beckham receives special Country Life ‘Birthday Honour’ ahead of knighthood

David Beckham is expected to receive a knighthood in King Charles’ Birthday Honours, becoming the 16th male footballer to be awarded the title.

But before that momentous occasion, the football legend has issued a kind of birthday honour of his own – with the announcement that he will become the first person outside the Royal Family to guest edit Country Life magazine.

The iconic weekly publication, known for its coverage of British rural life, announced that Beckham will take the editorial reins for a special issue due to be published in October, to mark his 50th birthday earlier this year.

The former England captain, who is an avid reader of the magazine, will follow in the footsteps of royal guest editors including King Charles (2013 and 2018), Princess Anne (2020), and Queen Camilla (2022).

Mark Hedges, the magazine’s editor-in-chief, said: “As soon as we were introduced, David told me how much he loves Country Life. He reads every issue from cover to cover and it’s been a great companion to him as he’s developed his own life in the countryside.”

Beckham added: “I am honoured to have been invited to guest edit an edition of a magazine that I have always admired and read. I am really looking forward to working with the editorial team to produce an issue that will celebrate what the countryside and the great British landscape mean to me and my family.”

The upcoming issue is expected to include Beckham’s favourite views, a beloved recipe, and tributes to rural champions and craftsmen who have contributed to his £12m countryside estate near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire.

“As a global football icon, with a passion for the countryside, his dogs, chickens, bees and his garden – notably trees, roses and vegetables – I’m excited to see what his special commemorative issue will bring,” Hedges said.

With a knighthood on the horizon and a guest editorship in hand, Beckham is marking his golden year with honours fit for royalty.

Lamine Yamal takes helicopter tour and snaps back at Guti on holiday

Aside from Spain’s loss to Portugal in the UEFA Nations League final, Lamine Yamal enjoyed an almost perfect 2024/25 season.

At only 17, the Barcelona prodigy has already cemented himself among football’s elite, contributing 43 goal involvements and helping Barca secure a historic domestic treble. His dazzling form has even put him in the conversation for this year’s Ballon d’Or – a remarkable achievement at such a young age.

With the season now over (Barca aren’t in the Club World Cup, and Spain don’t play again until September), Yamal is taking some well-deserved time off.

He shared a series of Instagram snaps showcasing his holiday highlights: a helicopter tour, a boat outing, and some relaxing poolside moments.

He took some time out to watch his Kings League team, La Capital CF, compete from his hotel room. The team plays in the innovative seven-a-side league founded by former Barcelona player Gerard Piqué.

Despite the downtime, Yamal couldn’t resist firing back at critics following Spain’s defeat to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal. One outspoken critic was former Real Madrid midfielder Guti, who bizarrely took issue with Yamal wearing his cap backwards during a post-match interview.

Amid his Instagram slideshow, Yamal shared a photo of himself wearing his cap backwards alongside a separate image displaying the message: “They complain about the bad ones and they abuse the good ones.”

Clearly, even on holiday, Lamine Yamal’s got the talent – and the attitude – to keep everyone talking.
