Borussia Dortmund have bid rejected for Bayer Leverkusen's Bellarabi

The Bundesliga club are planning for life without Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is wanted by Manchester United, but their move for the 26-year-old has been halted

Borussia Dortmund have had a bid rejected for Bayer Leverkusen forward Karim Bellarabi.

The Bundesliga club are in talks with Manchester United over the sale of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, whose contract expires next summer.

And Dortmund are already preparing for life without the Armenia international, who scored 11 goals and registered 15 assists in 31 Bundesliga games last season, by targeting one of Leverkusen’s key players.

“There was an official request from Dortmund few days ago, but it was instantly rejected,” Leverkusen’s sporting director Voller told Bild.

“To sell Karim is not an option for us at Leverkusen. He is definitely staying, he is not for sale.”
