Draxler: If Schalke want to sell me, I'll leave

The attacking midfielder expects to still be with the Bundesliga club when the transfer window closes, unless something “extraordinary” happens before Monday night

Julian Draxler is prepared to leave Schalke if the club receives a suitable offer before the transfer window closes.

Goal understands the highly rated 19-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal, who are planning to make an audacious bid for the midfielder before Monday’s transfer deadline.

And Draxler accepts that the Bundesliga outfit could be willing to sell if they receive an offer in the region of €40 million.

“I don’t mind people speculating, I’ll let them have their fun,” he said. “If nothing extraordinary happens, I will be here on Monday.

“But Schalke could change their mind and say ‘Well, 40 or 30 million euros is not so bad,’ and then I can’t do much about it.”

“If the club absolutely wants to sell me, I will not say ‘No, I want to stay.'”

Draxler played the full 90 minutes on Saturday as Schalke beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 with goals from Marco Hoger and Jefferson Farfan.

Bale set for Monday presentation, but Wales commitment frustrates Madrid

Cheryshev to join Sevilla on loan from Madrid

The young Russian is set to ply his trade at the Sanchez Pizjuan in a bid to play regular first team football

EXCLUSIVE
By Alberto Pinero and Adrian Boullosa

Sevilla have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Denis Cheryshev on loan, Goal can reveal.

The forward is seeking to leave the Bernabeu and gain more first team experience elsewhere and Unai Emery’s side are now frontrunner’s for the winger’s signature.

Cheryshev’s father, recognising the limited opportunities under Carlo Ancelotti this term, had been waiting for a convincing proposal for his son, who will now join los Rojiblancos until June 2014.

Emery is understood to be keen on the 22-year-old as an alternative to the likes of Jose Antonio Reyes, Diego Perotti and Marko Marin.

The loan does not include an option for Sevilla to purchase the young Russia international outright however, ensuring the highly-rated Castilla attacker, who signed a new four-year contract in July, will remain tied to los Blancos.

Cheryshev is yet to make a single Primera Liga appearance.

Kevin Prince-Boateng used to be a good guy, says Klopp

The German texted the former Borussia Dortmund man over his decision to join Schalke this summer, but received no reply

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp quipped that Kevin Prince-Boateng “was a good guy until this morning”, following the midfielder’s move to Schalke.

The Ghana international used to ply his trade for die Schwarzgelben, but appeared to put his loyalties aside by completing a switch to their local rivals from AC Milan on Saturday.

And Klopp has wasted no time to take a dig at the midfielder, who spent six months under hia tutelage.

“I wrote him a text message: ‘Why Schalke????????’ I’m really surprised,” the 46-year-old revealed to reporters.

“At 11.01 am I wrote that to Boateng, with eight question marks. Boateng was a good guy, until this morning.

“But I got no response. Do not be ashamed, it’s ok [directed at the €10 million signing].”

Boateng, 26, spent the 2008-09 season on loan at Signal Iduna Park from Tottenham and immediately won over Klopp with his performances.

However, last season’s Bundesliga runners-up could not work out a permanent deal with Spurs, with Boateng subsequently moving to Portsmouth.

The midfielder was handed his debut for the Royal Blues during Saturday’s 2-0 victory against Bayer Leverkusen.

Celtic in talks with Manchester United over Buttner loan, says agent

The player’s representative claims the Scottish champions have been in negotiations with the Premier League holders over a temporary move for the Dutch full-back

Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner’s agent, Aleksander Bursac, says Celtic want to take the full-back on loan.

The Dutchman has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford throughout the transfer window with Bursac previously claiming interest from Besiktas.

Buttner made just 13 appearances for the Premier League champions last season and may see his first-team chances further reduced should David Moyes’s men sign Leighton Baines from Everton.

It is understood United have submitted a new bid for Baines and Marouane Fellaini and Bursac believes Buttner could be set to move to Scotland with Celtic, although he remains unsure if United will allow the defender to leave.

“Yes, Celtic would like to take the player on loan for the season,” he told STV Sport.

“We feel it would greatly help the boy’s development to be playing regularly at that level and in European football.

“Celtic are a really great club. They [Celtic] have been back and forward in dialogue with Manchester United.

“It’s in their hands now as we are not sure if they want to release him.”
